New years Resolutions

What will you be resolving to do or not do in 2008?

I don't usually make new years resolutions but I am thinking
carefully about things i would like to change in my personal life.

* Make family Birthday cards in plenty of time for posting.

* I do think one think that i need to do is to use some of the things that are already on the shelves in my craft room.

12 x 12 paper storage a rack bought from a closing down sale of a craft shop near me.

Stampin up rubber stamp sets are brilliant and they have there own little clam shell cases, so easy to label and easy to find a set.

The shelves are a new addition to my craft room and make so much more space and free up the desk for making more projects.

My workspace.

Ribbon storage also bought from the closing down sale at my local craft shop.

Labelled storage drawers from WH Smith

My messy workspace

My Helper, he hasn't quite understood that the peel off's go on the card & not on his head.

Whatever your resolutions I wish you and yours a very
Happy & Healthy 2008

Last cards of 2007

I hope that you've all had a nice time over Christmas, the preparations take so long and the holidays are over so quickly.
I was back into work for the day on Friday into the chaos of the sale, some good craft bargains to be had with 50% of everything in the sale.
I had hoped to make some Happy new year cards, but have a head cold and am trying to be kind to myself to be well enough to take part in the "old years night festivities" as its also my wedding anniversary. We always have a family gathering at my sister-in-laws and then all go for a bracing walk on the beach on new years day.
This year our mad friend is doing a sponsored swim in the North sea, so we will be off to Great Yarmouth to support him.

So here are the last couple of cards of 2007

For Richards birthday.

For Matt's Birthday, he loves playing Internet poker.

Capture the magic

All too often we complain about poor service, so its about time we shouted from the rooftops when we have a positive retail experience.

I have to give a big pat on the pack too vikki at capture the magic, her service is excellent and all of the goods on the site are in stock and have always arrived within 48 hours.

Anyone wanting to add a pat on the back to a craft supplier please feel free to add a comment to this post.

It's true I have mad friends

It will be cold!!!. On New Years Day 2008 I will be joining some of the team hear at Radio Broadland & The Bloaters (Great Yarmouth Football Club), for a swim in the North Sea.

I'm John Venes, aka Jam Buster John on Radio Broadland, I am also in charge of the Thunder Team. I support RadioBroadlandKids 100% as I know where all the money goes & I have also been out & seen first hand where some of the money is spent. We help so many local children, making a difference to their young lives. I hope you will share in my support of this charity.

If you want to brave the weather it will be at midday in Great Yarmouth, also swmining on the day will be Gary Stevens (presenter), Sara Hardman from our web team & Faye who is the daughter of our charity manager.

I need to get more sponsorship than our presenter Gary Stevens so please dig deep!

P.s Gary the challenge is on….

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: GCap Charities - RadioBroadlandKidz will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Ice sculpture trail in Norwich

Christmas Ice Sculpture Trail in Norwich

Take a wintry and historic walk through a world of ice through Norwich. A swan, a lion and a dragon will be just some of the striking sculptures carved from ice to form a spectacular wintry trail through Norwich this Christmas.

Memories of the city’s historic past will be illustrated in carved ice forming an amazing journey through a labyrinth of streets from the Norwich Lanes to Westlegate.

The NORWICHRISTMAS ice sculpture trail on Sunday 16 December begins at St Andrew’s Plain on St George’s Street, where you can see Christmas trees being carved from blocks of ice and a forest emerge. From there you will discover the following icy signposts to the city’s history.

The sculptures are all hand carved by artists which makes this the only event of its kind in the country. And this year the trail has a different twist as it takes you on a discovery of unusual place names in the city.

Check back after Sunday & I will post some pictures, I want to make the last of my Christmas cards for friends using the photo's.

Don't be scared if a big fat man,
comes into your room,
in the middle of the night & throws you in a bag,
its only because i told Santa i want a friend like you for Christmas.

Daddy, how was I born?

Daddy, how was I born?

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?'

The father answers,
'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

Scroll down...You'll love this ....

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
