Another of the distractions of the summer

On the 14th June Maddie had a second litter of kittens, this time she had four kittens, under our bed. Maddie & her babies have been a wonderful distraction throughout the summer & yesterday when Dan went back I think he was sadder to leave Rosie the kitten we kept than to be leaving the rest of us.

I thought I would share with you the pictures of the litter & in particular our beautiful Rosie truffles, she is Brown not black hence the truffles.

I will take some up to date pictures of Rosie over the next few weeks & update them as she has changed so much already.

Watch out theres a thief about

As both Paul & I worked yesterday both Abi & Paul met me in the city & we went to Pizza Express for dinner with our Weightwatchers vouchers.
Neither Abi or I could finish our pizza so we had the leftovers as take out. We were only home for about an hour before we went out again to Eaton Park for the grand finale of NNF11 ( The Norfolk & Norwich festival )
This year it wasn't so much a Circus as a High wire / acrobatic act with a story by a group called the Wired Aerial Theatre

This ambitious and extraordinary piece of aerial theatre tells a powerful tale of ecological crisis. Combining dramatic film and visuals with breath-taking aerial performance, As The World Tipped confronts one of the most pressing issues for the planet with spectacle, humour and emotion.

At the Secretariat of the Copenhagen Climate Change conference, harassed staff fail to notice as the world around them, literally and metaphorically, slides toward disaster. Suspended above the audience in the night sky, the performers struggle to control their increasingly precarious world as they do battle with the effects of drastic environmental catastrophe.

Written and directed by Nigel Jamieson, one of the worlds leading creators of outdoor spectacle (Sydney Olympics, Liverpool Capital of Culture), As The World Tipped has been created with the pioneering team from Wired Aerial Theatre.


The show features film footage kindly supplied by Yann Arthus-Bertrand from his film about climate change, Home and by Gideon Mendel from his films about the floods in Pakistan and Australia.


It was amazing & very thought provoking, If you get a chance to see the show then I would Highly recommend it.
Again I digress, back to the pizza leftovers, We never got to eat them as someone got there first.

Sassy not only managed to get the box off the top of the coffee machine, where for some unknown reason Abi thought it would be safe but he managed to open the box, take the pizza out & jump down onto the floor & eat the lot.

I just thought I would share with you my definition of a cat burglar.

5 weeks old now ~ Kitten Diaries

Wow just 5 weeks ago these were just very tiny fluffy bundles that did nothing but eat & squeak & now they have changed so much and are becoming independent from Mum for longer periods of time everyday. I am constantly amazed by their different personalities, although one thing that they do share is the love of cuddles.

 The kittens are becoming more aware of their surroundings everyday & that includes when I'm stalking them with my camera out, they even appear to be posing for photo's here.

 On Thursday peanut butter has decided to try solid food for the first time, he ate his way through 2 tablespoons of kitten food like a pro, then promptly flaked out for the rest of the evening, he now has kitten food twice a day, we have tried tempting Jelly but she isn't interested in the food yet preferring to feed of Mum still, she was much tinier at birth than peanut Butter.

On Sunday peanut butter learn't to climb up on the sofa by himself, which left little jelly squealing on the floor until he was lifted up to join her brother.
The kittens are in for extra cuddles this week as Dan is home from University for a week for the easter break, I know it's not Easter yet, but term resumes before Easter!!


PB & J had a visit from their new Mummy & their Auntie Kate this week, & they did try & make a getaway in Auntie Kates handbag.

Chain mail suits needed

It's so hard to believe that only 4 weeks ago this little bundles of fluff were just 12 hours old, It still amazes me how quickly you can fall in love.


P Butter & Jelly now spend about 2 hours a day awake, they run & jump & they have learnt how to climb up your legs for a cuddle. Maddie is an amazing mum & she is now starting to teach them how to play fight, which neither Abi or I like.

They are so cute & have started to follow you from room to room downstairs.

Peanut Butter & Jelly at 13 days old

Where have the last 13 days gone? It's hard to believe that peanut Butter & Jelly are 2 weeks old tomorrow.

They now both have their eyes open & are trying to walk now, but are still very wobbly on their legs, I don't think that it will be too much longer before they are out of the basket on their own & thats when the fun really begins!! Did I really say fun?  No really I cant wait.
