The wedding went off without a hitch, Gemma & Jono were lucky with the weather that managed to be kind & not rain on their special day.

For the Bride & Groom

I recently came across this fabulous card on a fellow demo's blog Julies.
As our niece gets married today.
  I decided to use the pictures as a staring point for our card for Gemma & Jono who get married today at 2pm.

Its amazing as this stamp set  was never anywhere near the top of my wish list but I can see from playing with it is going to become one of my favourites, as I have since seen loads of samples using this set & in some fabulous colour ways. The stamp set is Mr & Mrs stamped on cream pearlescent card with basic black ink.

Wedding Portfolio

A few weeks ago I made a wedding stationary portfolio to show prospective brides, since making this one I have been asked to make another one & then we had a phone call to say our Son has decided to get married in 2010 & obviously I would love to make the invites & stationary.
Well I finally uploaded all of the photo's today ( The camera doesn't do the cards jusice, the cardstock is beautiful and had a pearlescent shimmer )

Printing in Gold Silver & Copper

The wedding season is galloping towards us & at work we have noticed the increased number of brides making their own wedding stationery.
So here I am sitting here in my craft room making up some sample wedding invitations for a couple of brides to view when I realised that it might be helpful to add the printer codes to print in gold silver & copper. This works with most printers & definateley with Epson printers.

• When you have written your text in word or publisher, highlight the whole text area.
• Cick on the 'A' button to change font colour.
• Click on the line that says more colours.
• The middle tab should br custom, click and enter the following codes in the boxes next to the colour names.
• This will then apply the colour to all of your hilighted text.

Dont you just hate it !

Don't you just hate it when you have a plan that wont work! I had a card order to make last night & wanted to personalise the front & back with names, which I love to do especially on wedding cards. The printer had run out of Magenta ink, Nobody told me, I didn't need Magenta ink but if one cartridge is empty the printer just wont print.
I did manage to work round the problem and make a suitable card, although very to different from the original design. The cardstock is 12" x 12" from the English paper company.it is across between pearlised & metallic with little shimmer flecks, so gorgeous, but the camera doesn't pick that up too well.

The red of this card is the most stunning deep red, almost Burgundy the camera doesn't show it so well.
After that card taking nearly two hours, well one hour thirty was wondering how to overcome the ink situation and the other 30 minutes making up this card, I attempted to start the second card order, A High School musical card for an 8 year old. By this time the brain wasn't functioning too well & I couldn't remember how to make shadow letters with my George cartridge, every button I pushed the letters came out the same. So I am back off to the craft room in a minute to finish the HSM card for this evening.

Wedding Cards

A while ago I used a stamped image that had been in an e-bay package I had bought a few years ago & I really liked the image so I posted on the Docrafts forum with a link to my gallery & a very kind stamp detective not only found the make, stamp details but also the cheapest online stockist, needless to say I needed that stamp. Here are the wedding cards I made with it, the papers are from the new Papermania 12" x 12" range they are double sided & unusually for papermania papers it was hard too choose which side I preferred.

First Cards of 2008

Well Christmas is really over now..... all of the decorations are safely packed away for another year and everything from the Christmas cards, crackers & packaging that is recyclable has been recycled and stored in the appropriate little boxes for adding to new cards.
So I have been make a start on the first cards of 2008

I bought this some years in an embellishments goody bag & am now looking for some simple images to make some wedding stationery and this would work well

I wonder if anyone can guess where the inspiration for this wedding card came from?















This card was embossed up the middle using one of the keepsake embossing bars and then gems glued onto the end of each stem.
( It looks lovely in the flesh, but the photo doesn't show up too well)


















Thought that I would try blue for a wedding card for a bit of a change.
( Any stamp detectives ~ does anybody know who the maker of this stamp is? )































Now a bit of a sad card ~ one of my work colleagues is leaving, she has got her dream job working with Horses at a horse sanctuary, so I thought this card was appropriate.

















We all like to make fun cards they seem so easy and the creativity just seems to flow when making Children's cards.
I really enjoyed making this one, it uses a stampin up stamp set called Circus Train.





















Whatever type of cards you start of making in 2008 I hope that you enjoy them & the creativity just flows for you.
