Santa Key Card ~ poem

No chimney for Santa to enter, you say?
Well, we know of a very "Special" way.
Next to your door where Santa will see,
Just hang this Magic Santa Key!
So just be happy and have some fun.
With this Magic Key, Santa's sure to come!

Snowman poem

Snowman
by William Cline

In a yard, a snowman will stand.
A little boy will take his hand.
They'll stand and talk for a little while.
On the snowman's face, there's a happy smile.

As I look at the child's face,
I know there's nothing can take the place,
Of a snowman on a winter day,
As all the children run and play.

I think of years that have traveled by,
Since I looked towards the sky,
And watched the snowflakes tumble down,
To make a white blanket o'er the ground.

We all seem to grow up fast,
And look to years that have raced past,
When we were filled with that wonderful joy,
Like the happiness I see in that little boy.

Next year when the snow comes down,
There'll be snowmen all around.
And when the ground is covered anew,
Who knows! Maybe I'll build one too!!

Tomorrows Inspiration

I have found a poem on the Internet, author unknown and I am going to use that for the inspiration for tomorrows Christmas cards.

I made myself a snowman, as perfect as can be,
I thought I'd keep it as a pet, and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pyjamas, and a pillow for his head.
Then last night it ran away, but first ~ it wet the bed!

I did manage to make some lovely cards yesterday, only 4 as I had the help!! of Sassy cat AKA asbo.
I will upload the new additions to my gallery after the weekend as my son took away the battery charger for my camera and ALL of the re-chargeable batteries on his sailing trip, my fault I know as I asked him to take lots of piccies & I would scrapbook his trip for him.
Well I am off to play in my craft room.....I have sorted Abi out with a new Wii game and some Hannah Montanna books, that should be enough for a couple of hours crafting.

A new crafting day

A new crafting day the weather is very autumnal & drizzly here today, but the postman was kind and bought me 3 parcels I have been waiting for. Two parcels of stamps from america one full of new Penny Black Christmas stamps and the other some new Whipper Snapper stamps. The third was from Artbase who stock some of the American paper crafting magazines. They are in a league of there own when it comes to inspiration, I have had a few different titles and am just trying to choose my favourite to subscribe too. When it comes to prices with the £ so strong I can subscribe to an American magazine & its cheaper than a subscription too a UK paper crafting mag.
So I am now off to my craft room to make the most of my week off and the new additions the postman bought me.

Snowman poem card

This would make a lovely Christmas card for a grand-parent.

A hammer white DL card blank has been used here.

Cut a piece of red glitter card to 17.5 x 8.5cm. The ribbon here appears to be long lengths that have been doubled over but you can cheat here to save ribbon - cut short lengths and stick them to the back of the card with tape - a loop at the top and 4 straight pieces at the bottom. Mount the glitter card to the card blank with double sided tape.

The poem that appears below has been printed in dark green print onto white pearlescent card and then trimmed to measure 15 x 8cm. The font used on the card is Monotype Corsiva, size 12, although this won't appear below if you do not have this font on your PC. Choose another font that you like if this is the case.

Stick the poem to the card with double sided tape and add a wooden snowman head from the wooden Christmas assortment with tape or glue. Punch holly from green pearlescent card using a large holly punch. I've trimmed off the stem here and added three 'berries' which have been cut from red pearlescent card with an 1/8 inch hole punch. Stick with tacky glue.

Santa key card

This is a cute idea, great for those without chimneys! This is very simple as it's mostly all done!

It's been printed onto white pearlescent card and trimmed close to the snowflake border. Mount this onto a red pearlescent rectangle measuring 13.5 x 9cm and in turn onto a hammer white C6 card blank with double sided tape.

Stick a gold card key into the space with double sided tape. Decorate the key with a ribbon bow made from red organza ribbon and some red gems, both fixed with tacky glue.

Finally, add a Santa charm using a sticky pad.

A Craftaholic’s Prayer

A Craftaholic’s Prayer

Dear Lord,

I’m going to need some notice

Before my days are done.

You see, I’m a craftaholic.

A fact not known to some.

My craft room, it is bulging

All corners, crannies and nooks

There's loads of boxes under the bed,

I hope no one ever looks

I tell myself when shopping,

“No more craft bits today,”

But the craft shops are like magnets

Drawing me their way.

I’m totally at their mercy

Just "need" a dozen of each.

Then I hurry home to hide them

Before the family starts to preach.

So Lord, I’ll need a little time

To dispose of all this stuff.

And Lord, can we just keep all of this,

Between the two of us

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
