My Beautiful Baby is 16 today

I'm feeling father nostalgic today as my baby is 16, I know we all say it but I cannot believe how fast time flies by. Poor Abi has her second day of exams today, she has worked hard & revised for months, so I have everything crossed.
We are off out for a quick meal tonight so she can get back early & revise, we're off to the Waffle House in Norwich I've never been before &I know it will definitely blow the pro points budget, good job we are all going for our weigh in before we go & have a whole week to work it off.
All weekend I was making samples for the forthcoming all day event, every time  Abi popped into the craft room she hinted that she wanted her card made using the Baby Blossoms set which suited the card I had in mind perfectly.

It's that time of Year again

It's that time of year again, exam time for both Dan @ Nottingham Trent Uni & Abi is in year 11 at High school, Both have their first exam today. Abi has been revising for weeks & going to extra revision session her teachers have been running.
Dan has had major hand ins & a programming module that he has already been awarded a provisional first for. Dan has been having 16 - 17 hour days & has been consuming lots of revision food ie: chocolate Hob Nobs & Quick meals like pasta.

So I know they have both done everything they can by now & hope that their memories both serve them well.

Dusty Stamp set

Own up, We all have them, Dusty stamp sets that often get put on a shelf as something new comes along, I know this to be true as I talk to crafter's of every age group everyday. We are stash~a~holics, as soon as our favourite brand brings out some lovely new stash we NEED it!!
I am no different from crafter reading this blog, only in my case as a demonstrator I NEED to demonstrate all of the lovely new stash so I feel justified making every Stampin' Up purchase. Well the stamp set in question is Sense of time, I originally bought this as soon as it became available, I had some scrapbook layouts in mind for this set, I don't remember if I every got round to making the layouts, {Mental note to self check scrapbooks & add to my to do list.}

Whilst I has hopping around blog land I found a card using this set that inspired me to ink up my stamps. I was actually looking for inspiration for the Baby blossoms set when I first mounted it & I came across this blog by Cherie Franklin & this card is a case of one of her beautiful cards, Thank you for inspiring me to dust of a sense of time.

The card is so pretty & girly, {but mental note to self, look for inspiration for masculine cards, you currently have none in your stash.}

This set is an absolute must have set from the current mini catalogue, it is just fabulous & so en trend at the moment & so in keeping with the Vintage / Cath Kidston style.
I have to be truthful & say I got mine FREE on of the perks of being a demonstrator is earning free stamp sets in promotions throughout the year.
When the set arrived I was initially not even going to mount it as two step stamping sets used to scare the life out of me, But now I am totally in love.
I found a sheet on the internet on a fellow demo's site that simplified the stamp set & took all of the brain fudge out of using it. I had seen so many beautiful projects, once I started stamping with this set I was hooked.

M I A

It was amazing when I looked back at my blog & I realised that I had only made one post in the last two weeks. I have been M I A , well not so much missing in action as working on other projects. Some of you may know that I also have a Bunting company called Lavender Bunting, I make bunting to hire for any occasion or bespoke orders. Thats what I've been doing finishing a very large order for classroom packs, I have struggled to get anymore Calico to finish the order but last week I eventually tracked some down & have managed to get the order finished.
Having the sewing machine out over the last couple of weeks has just served to remind me how much I love sewing.
Yesterday after the order was finished I made a fabric bag & customised another, Can you spot the Stampin' Up products used in these two projects?

First the customised canvas bag

Using up the scraps to make a Lavender Bunting Bag
Can you spot the Stampin' Up products on this bag?
Regal Rose Grosgrain
Subtles designer buttons
Antique Brass jumbo Eyelets

Did you spot them?
This is a bag that I made from scratch using some of the extra Calico as the lining & half a Metre of beautiful floral fabric. The inside has a pocket as I always lose my keys in the bottom of my bag, now theres no excuse unless of course I forget theres a pocket!!

Can you spot the Stampin' Up products used on this bag?

If you cant here's a close up
Old Olive Striped Grosgrain ribbon
I covered the webbing straps with the Old Olive Striped Grosgrain ribbon.
I still have about 2 Metres of Calico left so watch this space & see how I combine the fabric with the beautiful stamps from the Mini catalogue.

9 weeks old Today

Todays Kitten diaries will be the last in the current series & peanut Butter & jelly went of to live with their new Mummy & Daddy yesterday & have already settled in very well using their new Mummy as a climbing frame, she cant say I didn't warn her.

Jelly keeping warm on my Netbook

She will be a beautiful cat

" No I'm not moving this is a perfect spot warm netbook & sunshine, I'm happy here.

Mum I'm a big boy now, I dont need you to wash behind My ears.
When Alice came to collect the kittens yesterday we weighed them before she took them.
Jelly is the placid one & sat quite happily on the scales.
When she was born she weighed 117g & just 9 weeks on she weighs 780g she gained 663g in that short time.
Weighing Peanut Butter was much harder he is a real livewire & doesn't sit still, so he ended up being weighed about 3 times before we got an actual reading.
When he was born on 21st February he weighed 143g and now 9 weeks on he weighs 1219g his weight increased by a massive 1076g.
So with the kittens going to their new home today it was a funny day but one question remains to be answered!! Did the Daddy cat who got in last week catch Maddie in season?
Watch this space over the next 4 weeks to see if we are expecting again, obviously part of me hopes not so Maddies body has time to recover, but speaking to the vet he has said providing she is well fed & nourished she will be fine. But there is part of me that has got used to having the babies around.

The backing papers are from the Designer series paper stacks. These stacks are so useful & of course they co-ordinate with the whole Stampin' Up colour range.

A beautifully simple Happy Birthday card in crumb cake with pastel shades. The Neighbourhood wheel was stamped onto Watercolour paper with the basic black ink.

To colour the individual houses I used the Stampin' Write marker pens, I scribbled onto the Pringle lid & then used an Aqua painter brush filled with water to pick up the colour & colour each individual house, set them aside to dry before cutting them out.
The flowers are also made with the Watercolour paper, I love how this paper reacts with the inks & water. The flowers are all punched using the smallest flower on the Boho blossoms punch, each flower is then edged with a pastel colour from the Stampin' Write pens using the brush tip. Then a few dots in the middle with the Black Stampin' Write pens using the fine tip. To shape the flowers use the soft mat from the mat pack & the slimmer end of the Tombow glue to shape the flowers. Crystal effects in the centre of the flowers & a light sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds. The branches are cut from the two step Bird punch, with the leaf markings drawn on using the Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write marker.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
