A little bit of scrapping

Life is funny, a couple of weeks ago I went on a scrapbooking retreat & did two Annie Hafermann projects & I was completely enthused and felt so creative, during the following week I finished the 4 projects that I started during the retreat & since then we have had so much going on family wise that I haven't managed to sit & complete anything.

Well on sunday afternoon, fortified by a plate of reese's pieces cookies I managed to complete a couple of scrapbook layouts, I am not enthused with any of them & feel totally at a loss as to where to start with my scrapbooking again, i have had the magazines out, cruised my favourite blogs & nothing seems to jump out at me..........I really dont like this feeling of being in a scrapbooking no mans land.

Sunday is baking day at our house

Sunday is baking day in our house, paul makes us treats it used to be muffins, now we have moved onto cookies after being loaned an american cookie book.
Our current favourites are white chocolate chip cookies & peanut butter cookies, this is not helping me with my wish to loose weight, but the smell of the cookies baking totally seduces me.

Peanut Butter & Reese's pieces cookies

In a medium bowl add and combine with a fork or wire whisk
350g Plain flour
2 teaspoons Bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon Bakng powder
200g Soft demerara sugar
225g Dark brown sugar

In a large bowl cream together & blend well
225g Soft butter
250g Smooth peanut butter
2 Large eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence

Gradually fold dry ingredients into butter mixture. Because the cookie dough is very stiff we find it easier to use a wooden spoon. Mix just long enough to combine all of the ingredients, dont over mix.
Add 1 small bag of reese's pieces
Using a tablespoon drop the cookie dough onto a baking sheet covered with a silicon non stick mat & flatten the dough with a fork.

bake in a pre heated oven Gas 5 / 190c / 375f

Bake for 8 - 10 minutes until golden brown. When cooked move to a wire cooling rack.

Retreat project 3 ~ finished

This is one of my favourite projects from the retreat & it was taught by the lovely Annie who was such a wonderful teacher & so inspiring.

If you ever get a chance to attend a workshop that annie is teaching then it is a must as she is inspiring & witty.

I love this interactive layout & to be truthful is my first double spread layout.

I love the retro kitchen papers that are in vogue at the moment & this layout uses them so well, the tree little photo books are really cool & I had never thought to cut my page protector so you can open the pages of the flip books ~ A top tip from Annie.

Flipped One

Flipped Two

Flipped Three

One of my favourite parts of this project "summer 2009" was reviewing & choosing the pictures It made me realise what a lot of fun we had dring the summer & how much we had managed to cram in with our family & friends. I sat at my laptop annotating the three mini books & printed them out that way I could get as much information in a small space whilst leaving loads of space for pictures.

Weekend retreat ~ project 2 finished

Well better late than never
Here is the second project from the YTOC retreat that I enjoyed so much at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago.
One of the things that I loved at the retreat was the attention to detail, here is our water bottle that was on the table when we arrived.

This project is one that I have managed to finish, with everything that is happening at home at the moment, finishing that project is quite an achievement.

Stampers 10 project from cancelled workshop

Many thanks to everyone who sent kind wishes when I had to cancel my Stampers 10 workshop.
My Mum had been taken into hospital & she had been there for 4 days before anyone contacted me, Paul & I went down to see her as she was having major surgery.
She is now on the mend and although she will need help for the next 6 - 8 weeks she is making good progress.

So thank you everyone for your understanding.

Christmas lists books

Inside the books covers are mini envelopes for receipts & vouchers

I have used the Stampin' Up tab punch to make sections in the book
Cards
presents
Food shopping
Meals
I am sure there are many more sections that could be added & also the book could be used & altered for a number of different occasions.

The project is a Christmas list book as featured in a previous post
In two different colourways
All of the stamps, papers & inks are from Stampin' Up & can be purchased through me.

Weekend retreat ~ project 1

Project 1 a work in progress

Sunday was a spent in Newmarket on a scrapbooking retreat arranged by Amanda & sara. It was a lovely day and to make it even better when we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful aroma of Sara's homebaked cookies & brownies.
I shared a scrapping space with Dawn, it was lovely to catch up with her.
We did 4 classes throughout the day with the most georgous papers & of course those georgous papers made georgous projects.

The first was with Suezie and we made the extending card with the yummiest flocked papers, I still need to add the pictures to this lovely home decor project.

It extends

and extends

This project was designed by & taught by Suezie Howard The pictures of the blank project are also taken by Suezie. When I have completed my project i will also add my pictures, I am just awaiting the delivery of a pack of black & white pictures.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
