Okay own up?

How many Christmas cards have you made so far?

I have made quite a few but in all fairness I was the crazy lady who started to make her Christmas cards in July, in my defence I only started that to inspire you.
I was trying to think of some cute cards for Christmas & when I think of cute Forest Friends always springs to mind

The background of the card was sponged on using the Marina Mist ink pad, making a beautiful sky. The Lovely as a Tree single tree is stamped 3 times onto the background using Garden Green. The snow layers are Whisper White card stock torn & edged with Frost White Shimmer paint. The Rabbit & the deer from Forest Friends are stamped onto Crumb cake cardstock using the Early Espresso ink & Highlighted with a white gel pen.

The greeting is from Sincere salutations & stamped in Night of Navy onto Bashful Blue cardstock & punched out using the scalloped oval punch & popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
All of the products used on the above cards are from Stampin' Up & are available to purchase through me as a creative coach.

It's only August & I'm on my 3rd Christmas card...........!

It's hard to believe we are only in August, the weather here is absolutely foul, but I'm quite pleased that I've managed to finish my 3rd Christmas card & I think this is my favourite so far. The card uses the Dasher from the mini catalogue & lovely as a tree from the main catalogue.
Dasher is in the Mini catalogue which is only valid until 30th September
Did you know there is a way that you can heat emboss using the Stampin' Up ink pads? Well if you first coat your stamp in Versamark ink & then coat the stamp in the desired coloured ink & then quickly stamp your image & cover with embossing powder & heat in the usual way. The Vellum is torn in strips & using shimmer paint in frost white I painted the torn edge. Vellum is very hard to adhere & is virtually impossible to do this without the glue showing through, so what I usually do is cut the vellum larger than I need & wrap the excess around the back of the panel & stick using double sided tape. The card stock I've used is Bashful blue, Whisper white & Basic black. The ink is Ballet blue. The sentiment comes from the set sincere salutations.

Quick & simple

We all have the need every now & then for a quick card, no matter how organised we aspire to be. This card fits the bill perfectly coupled with the sincere salutations stamp set that has a greeting for every occasion this card is so quick & easy.

It could be adapted for any occasion by just changing the colour way & designer series papers. Imagine a quick solution for those hard to make Male cards !

Inspired afternoon

Its been a short weekend this week as I worked yesterday so I have spent an inspired afternoon in my craft room whilst multi tasking and cooking a mouthwatering roast beef dinner, haven't had a roast for ages & just fancied one today.
Recently I have bought a few classes from a fellow demonstrator to inspire me.

I do this from time to time when my mojo desserts me or when i am just too busy or stressed to play. I seldom copy them directly I just use them as a starting point for either design or colour.
I recently bought the set on a pedestal so I just fancied having a play. I have broken out some of the colour renovation products

A case'd card

Whilst Surfing some fellow demo's blogs I found this lovely card to case by Julie
In the oroginal card Julie used the beautiful Bella Bleu papers that are my current favourite. It took me three attempts until I made a card I was happy with, I originally tried the card with a different set of papers & it was nice but not outstanding so i carried on.Cardstock

The second card I used flowers of the same colour & inked the edges, & It still wasn't quite right, i think the problem was that I glued the flowers flat & I think that they needed popping up a bit on glue dots.Cardstock

The third card is very similar to Julies & I loved it.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
