Day 6 of the snow

I know that not everyone enjoys the extremes of weather but I love the snow, today is the 6th day in a row that we've had snow so I tool a couple of pictures of the cats to share with you.

This is the first time that Maddie has been out in the snow as last year she was too young to go out.

21st Birthday

This is a very simple style, which s-i-l favours, the card is a very dark blue pearlescent shimmer card. The playing cards are from a set of mini cards that I found in our local game shop.
The letters are cut from the Cricut George & basic shapes cartridge
.

My nephew is 21 next week and I have to make two completely different cards for him, one from us and a second from my sister-in-law.

The second card is still a work in progress, as its a board book which I love making and I have some pictures from birth to twenty one to add. I am quite safe posting the cards on here before his birthday, as he is not a blog fan.

Pink Gem

Little Gem

Check out these cute stamps on Janet's blog.
Janet has just started designing her own stamps under the Pink Gem label, she also designs for Spiral Whisper.
I ordered some new stamps from Pink gem on Wednesday & they arrived this morning.

Just a quickie

I have been to work today and we had a very very busy day, we had the lovely
Dawn in from Bramwells demonstrating the Cuttlebug machine & the lovely spring Inkadinkado rubber stamps. It was great to catch up with Dawn and swap holiday stories, reminiscing about Greece was lovely and I can so understand where Shirley Valentine comes from I fell in love with Greece.

So here is the quickie card I made this morning again inspired by Dawn.

Dawn is back at Jarrolds again on 7th February & again on the 7th March.

Stampers 10

How can someone who is soooooooooooo good also be so bad?

Last night our Stampers 10 group met and Michelle our demonstrator is so good to us and made a fabulous gift bag and a set of three cards, they were so much fun and everyone loved the project.
Despite a collective intake of breath the cards were much easier than they looked at first glance.

So you're all wondering how she is so bad. Well Michelle is so good at her job and designs fabby projects for us to make, but at the same time she makes our wish lists grow with new sets we hadn't noticed and yummy colour combinations that take us out of our white / cream comfort zone.

The set is by Stampin up and is Pocket Silouettes

Thank you Michelle we loved this 3D project.
Roll on next Friday when I am having a Christmas themed Stampin up party.

Batch Christmas cards

I am in the middle of making my batches of Christmas cards using my favourite Stampin up stamp sets, I dont usually enjoy making large batches of the same design, but as you can see each card is very similar although each has a subtle difference.

All of the card stock I have used is Stampin up.

Five from one

I sneaked past the Ironing mountain with my eyes closed, just so I could have a little play with my favourite & in my opinion most versatile Stampin up set.
The colours are old olive, ruby red & the papers are from the recently retired Dashing set.

In my last order I got some of the stamp & Stick powder, I have tried one of the glue pads which is supposed to be similar but I never managed to achieve the desired effect with the glue pad and always ended up disappointed, so the pad went in the bin. So as you can imagine I was sceptical when I bought the "Stamp & Stick powder", but I was amazed at the results ( the camera doesn't do the shimmer justice ).
First I stamped my image with Always artichoke, close to cocoa for the tree trunk & a yellow star on top. I waited for a few seconds for the inks to dry and covered the whole are with Versamark ink, sprinkled on the Stamp & stick powder, tipped of the excess & heated with my heat gun. Then the magic bit, when the powder is shiny & melted tip on the glitter & shake of the excess, Heat for a few seconds to set & voilĂ  sealed glitter effect.

All supplies are from Stampin up and available from Michelle

Last couple of cards before I start packing

The stamp set on the above cards is a cute Inkadinkadoo mini set of clear stamps, the cardstock is Stampin up & the strip of background paper is by Doodlebug.

Just catching up on the last couple of October birthday cards, in-between cleaning the house and putting the washing on before I start packing tomorrow for 10 days in the sun. Everyone else has packed today and all the bags are sat in the lounge and Paul keeps weighing them and re weighing them just to check the kids haven't snuck anything else into there bags.
I am already in holiday mood and have two & a half weeks of work, so when I get back I hope to start scrapbooking some of the holiday pictures using the new seaglass papers & accesories from K & Co.

I have used the Stampin up set called Computer quips for this card the set is now sadly retired, the cardstock is all Stampin up.

Spiral Whisper ~ Little Gem

I just love these cute little dogs from Spiral Whisper stamps they are designed by Janet aka Pink Gem. I have noticed many cards lately using the big flowers from Poppicraft so I popped over onto there site to have a look and a few jumped into my basket and a couple of days later hey presto here they are on a card...... Don't you just love magic?

World Card making day October 4th

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday especially as it was World Card Making day.
I took Abi and we went and spent the afternoon with Michelle at the Stampin up catalogue launch at her house. We did a couple of beautiful make & takes, Michelle always makes some lovely 3d items & yesterday was no exception.

This bag was so simple but very effective and uses one of my favourite sets Season of joy. I can think of loads of excuses to make these bags, especially with Christmas just around the corner.
The second card we made was using one of the new release sets called True friend, definately on my wish list.

The few that I have managed to finish

The few cards that I have managed to finish

The front panel of the card is a lift up topper with a folding out greeting sheet. The stamped image is from a sheet of clear stamps by Hero Arts & coloured with Twinkling H20's.

The papers for this card are from the DCWV rose tints Christmas paper pack. The tree is an origami fold.

The Halloween girl stamp is a sugar Nellie from Funky kits. The spider is from the english stamp company. Backing is from Coredinations cardstock put through the web Cuttlebug & sanded to shoe the orange core & black glitter was added.

The stamp is a Great Impressions stamp and is mounted on an acetate card front, before mounting the image I used a white Staz-on pad and stamped the snowflakes with the Stampin up Snowflakes spot set.

This is probably one of my favourite stamps from my recent purchases a spiral Whisper stamp from Pink Gem.

Snowflake spot

I decided a few weeks back that I would make my general Christmas cards from a couple of sets and using simple designs mass producing would leave me with more time making the special individual cards for close family & friends. After making that decision I found a post by Jenny All I need to do now is too decide which colour scheme I will use & order my cardstock.
who inspired these cards. I intend to make half of my batch cards using my new Snowflake spot set, which was on the retired list from Stampin up so is only available for another couple of weeks.

I quite like the navy cards they have a certain distinctive look.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
