Finally a Mothers Day card worth sending

I started the day of with all good intentions of going straight into the craft room & making my Mum's Mothers Day card, but the good intentions didn't last long when I got waylaid by the spring clean that I have been threatening to start for the last couple of weeks, last week I was laid low with Migraines & the week before that I had backache all week so cleaning & painting were the last thing on my mind.

Today I managed to clean & clear 3 of the 15 kitchen cupboards, The top of the double cupboards over the oven & managed to fill the Kitchen table with Charity shop donations. I also managed to bag up & weigh out all of the Cereal, Rice, Pasta, & Cous Cous into Pro point size bags.

I am now looking forward too my two & a half weeks off from the middle of next week.

So here is the card I made to post to Mum.

Cardstock
Shimmery White
Wild Wasabi
Certainly Celery
Pretty In Pink

Ink
Wild Wasabi
Garden Green
Blushing Bride
Rose red

Tools
Stamp a ma jig
Scallop trim Border

Stamps
A rose is a rose
Occasional Greetings

Pretties
Basic Rhinestones
Certainly Celery Taffeta ribbon
Clear Embossing tool
Heat embossing tool

The card fold is a double twisted Easel card that starts life as an 8" square of card.

Now all I have to do is remember to take it into work with me in the morning & get it in the post, wish me luck.

Gift card holder

Another fellow Uk demonstrator was on-stage at convention to share some of her beautiful creations with us and that was Jules Who came 4th in demonstrator of the year for 2010. Check out her blog and you will see why she is just so inspiring.

When Jules was on main stage she made us laugh as she was such a natural with Chris her cameraman it was a comedy duo, but seriously she made this really cool gift card holder.

I couldn't resist so here is my version of the card holder

Crumb cake Cardstock measures 4" x 11"
Score at 2 3/4" ~ 4" ~ 5 1/4" ~ 8 1/4"

Be very careful when gluing, making sure that you only glue the three edges where I have marked.

Once glued leave to dry

Using a gift card mark either side of the card with a pencil, so you know where to punch.

Using the word window punch make a whole all the way between the two lines.

Designer series paper 4" x 2 3/4" From the Simply Scrappin' Christmas Jingle set

Punches used are the word Window punch & scallop border trim punch
The stamps are from delightful decorations and occasional greetings, Both images are stamped in Real red ink & the bauble is decorated with the lovely bling rhinestones from the current catalogue.

Autumn is here

It really feels like autumn here in Norfolk although the weather is bright it is very chilly & feels quite autumnal.
So I thought I would make some cards using the Autumn Splendour set & the Autumn Meadows papers.

To make the flower
Punch out your largest circle using 1 3/4" circle punch, this will form the base of your flower.

You will need 7 circles using the middle sized
1 3/8" circle punch.
The smallest 1"circle punch will form the centre of your flower, you could use the middle sized circle if you prefer.

I have inked all the edges of the circles both front and back using the
Sponge Daubers & Really Rust ink but for an alternative look you could distress them.
Fold both sides of each circle in to create a little posy shape. Glue the bottom section together.
When the flower is assembled stick the smallest circle in the middle & button with the hemp twine tied through the button.

Soft Suede card base 5" square, 4 Chocolate chip squares 4 3/4", 4 squares of Autumn meadow papers
4 1/2" square. The large leaf is cut from the backing papers, the smaller leaf is stamped using Really Rust ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock & inked around the edges. The sentiment is from Occasional Greetings stamped in Really Rust onto the backing papers & punched out using the Oval punch & mounted onto Chocolate chip cardstock punched using the Scallop Oval punch.

Spotlight on Christmas

Well I have eventually had some time at home to have a play with some time at home to have a play with some of my new stampin' Up sets & punches.

Without really thinking abot it I have gone for the same colour ways as many of the previous Christmas samples, I am working on autopilot at the moment & although I love the colour combination it wasn't a consious decision.

The cards & decorations are made using a a variety of Stampin' Up punches & products please contact me if you would like further information about any of them.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
