In Addition you will need
A food bag
Something like a pringle tube lid to use as a palette

To make the Faux pearl background you will need a piece of glossy card.

  • Completely cover the glossy card with the blushing bride ink pad using a direct to paper technique, this needs to be completely covered but it doesn't matter if the colour is un-even.
  • Tip a small amount of the frost white shimmer paint onto a palette.
  • Scrunch up the food bag this will be your applicator to make the pattern.
  • Dip the food bag into the paint & apply to the pink glossy in a dabbing pattern, carry on until the pink card is covered ( but in a patchy way )
  • Leave to dry
  • Then using kitchen roll buff to a shine
  • This can be made using any colour ink pad, red & green would look great for seasonal projects.

Well that's another project uploaded what else can I find?

Technique Thursday

Using Heat & Stick Powder

1]   Stamp image with VersaMark® or Craft Stampin' Pad.

2]   Apply Heat & Stick powder to the inked image. Shake off excess powder onto the Powder Pal or a piece of scratch paper and funnel it back into its container.

3]   Heat image with the heat tool just until powder turns to liquid. Do not overheat.
4]   Pour glitter onto the inked image, making sure that the image is coated completely.
5]   Shake off excess glitter as described in Step 2.
6]   Heat again briefly to set.
QUICK TIP
Our Powder Pal is an excellent alternative to scratch paper for saving excess powder and glitter. It also makes cleanup a snap!

Heat Embossing

Technique A:  Heat Embossing
1]   Place your card stock in a Powder  tray or over a large piece of scratch paper.
2]   Rub the Embossing Buddy across the card stock you want to emboss. This keeps the embossing powder from sticking anywhere but on the ink.
3]   Stamp the image with Craft, VersaMark, or embossing ink.
4]   Pour powder onto the inked image, making sure that the image is coated completely.
5]   Shake off excess powder into the tray and funnel it back into the container.
6]   Heat the stamped image only until the powder changes to a shiny liquid and rises.
7]   Allow embossed image to cool.

Technique B:  Emboss Resist
1]   Follow steps 1-7 above, using Stampin' Emboss clear embossing powder.
2]   Apply ink with a sponge directly to the paper over and around the embossed image.
3]   Wipe the embossed image with a tissue to remove the excess ink.
QUICK TIP
Avoid overheating the powder and burning the paper when working with a heat tool.

EMBOSS RESIST

Directions:
1) Stamp and heat emboss your image. Allow image to cool.

2) Apply ink directly to the paper (over and around the embossed image) using a sponge or brayer.
3) Wipe the embossed image with a tissue to remove the excess ink.

Variation: watercolor resist
1) Once you've embossed an image, scribble around and over the image using a Watercolor Wonder Crayon, and blend using an Aqua Painter. Wipe the color from the embossed image, and allow to dry completely.

MASKING

1]   Stamp image on card stock.

2]   Stamp it again on a piece of scratch paper.
3]   Cut carefully around the scratch paper image, cutting just inside the lines; this will be your mask.
4]   Place the mask on top of the card stock image.
5]   Stamp another image over a portion of the mask to create layered, interacting images.
6]   Remove the mask to see the finished look.
7]   To stamp a partial image, use tape to cover the part of the stamp you don't want to appear, ink the stamp, remove the tape, and stamp the image.
QUICK TIP
To ensure that the mask stays in place, stamp image on a Post-It® note.

Vintage Vogue feature

Have you seen this months issue of the Making cards magazine? The July Issue has a feature using the lovely Vintage Vogue stamp set & they ise the kissing technique.

The kissing technique is a great way to get more use from your stamps. There are several different ways to use this technique:

Take a background or textured stamp and ink it with a dark color. Place it face up on your work surface. Then ink a solid stamp with a lighter color. Press the solid stamp into the background stamp so that they “kiss” each other. The background stamp leaves a pattern into the solid stamp. Then take the kissed solid stamp and stamp onto cardstock.
As a variation, ink the two stamps in coordinating colors, rather than a lighter shade of the same color, and “kiss” them together. Then press the solid stamp onto cardstock.

Ink a solid stamp and “kiss” it with an un-inked pattern stamp. This removes ink in the shape of the pattern. Stamp the kissed solid stamp onto cardstock.

All of the Stampin' Up products are  available to purchase through me including the very versatile Vogue set used in this feature.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
