World card Making Day Event ~ Part 2

Can you guess which set the tree wreath comes from?

I am now fully rested &  un-packed from Saturdays Worlds Card making day event with Sharon on Saturday & as promised I will share with you the Christmas cards that we made in the afternoon session. The afternoon session went on until  5pm and over ran a little bit as we actually say down to eat lunch with our lovely ladies & listen to their thoughts on the newly released annual Stampin' Up catalogue. I think many of the ladies are as over whelmed as we were when we first saw it a month ago at the launch in Reading.

These trees are so sparkly made with Heat & stick powder & dazzling diamonds to bling them to the max.

So here are some of the cards that we made in the afternoon.

The first card is a swing card that looks far more complicated than it really is, after talking with a friend of mine and watching her make this card I realised just how simple this card is to design using the Framelits & she also gave me a couple of foolproof tips so I could share this card with you, I love this design, I think i will be trying it with some other stamp sets, s thank you Naomi.

The same card as above laying flat ready for posting.
Both Sharon & I would like to thank you if you attended our all day event to celebrate World Card Making day & of course the release of the new Annual Stampin' Up catalogue.

Our last all day event for 2012 is being held at Hethersett village hall on Saturday 1st December between 10 - 4ish. Places are filling up fast. This will be gifts & cards on the day, as requested by you. On the day there will also be the Draw draw for the Big Shot package.
Book your place now with either Sharon or Myself.

Welcome Christmas ~ A new Favourite

What is your favourite stamp set? which set do you always reach for first?

With my Christmas card preparations well under way I seem to be favouring the Welcome Christmas stamp set. The two cards in this post are both made using the same main stamp from the set but both have a completely different look.

Did you spot the stamp? the family Christmas scene.
The above card uses the fir tree from lovely as a tree as the branches to hang the baubles from.
The silhouette scene in this card is simply adorned with basic rhinestones.
The greeting is stamped twice, with the top of the greeting " Welcome Christmas" positioned under the top of the panel and the bottom of the greeting "Into your heart" positioned under the bottom of the card.
Just making an additional way that the greeting can be used.

Until next time Happy Crafting

AU naturelle

Christmas Au Naturelle, Christmas using Crumb cake cardstock I could quite happily use the crumb cake for all of my Christmas projects, It goes with Everything.
What colours are you using this year?

Both of the cards in todays post are A6 if you have loads of cards to make this is the most economical size card to make as you get two cards from a single A4 sheet.

Supplies needed for these cards
Cardstock
Crumb cake
Very Vanilla
Early Espresso
Real Red
Ink
Soft Suede
Whisper white ( Craft )
Early Espresso
Real Red
Versamark
Stampin' Write pens
Stamps
Lovely as a tree ( I don't use this set enough )
Serene Snowflakes
Welcome Christmas
Gifted ~ retired September 2011
Tools
Stamp a ma jig
1 1/4" Square punch
1 3/8" Square punch
Heat tool
1/4" Circle punch ~ Retired
Decorations
Basic Rhinestones
Dazzling Diamonds
Heat & Stick powder.
The shimmer of this card is stunning & the photo really doesn't do it any justice.
To make the shimmer on this card I first stamped the Lovely as a tree image using Early espresso ink, using my Stamp a ma jig to make sure that the image was central as I had pre-cut the panels for this card.
Then I covered the whole panel with Versamark embossing ink using the ink pad directly onto the card.
Then sprinkled on a generous coat of heat 'n' stick powder, tipped off the excess & returned it to the pot & heated the card using the heat tool.
Quickly I covered the whole area with Dazzling diamonds whilst it was still tacky & sprinkled off the excess & carefully heated to set the glitter into the heat & stick powder.
This is a beautiful technique & works well with many images.

The Gifted Stamp set is retiring at the end of September 2011.

Well the weather feels wintry so here is a card to match

With the weather so Wintry I decided that a card to match was what was needed, The base of the card is Bashful Blue & I used one of the Serene Snowflake stamps to stamp a background pattern with Night of Navy ink. The main panel is stamped on Very Vanilla card stock & mounted on a layer of Night of Navy. The tree's from Lovely as a Tree are stamped onto the layer in Garden Green. The misty background is Marina mist applied using a sponge Dauber.
The Deer from the Winter Post set is stamped in Early Espresso in front of the tree's. To make the snow effect I used the Versamark pen to scatter the snow, this was sprinkled with heat & stick powder, heated using my heat gun & when melted I sprinkled on Dazzling diamonds & heated briefly until set.

All of the above products are from Stampin' Up & are available to purchase through me.

Delightful decorations & I can now share them with you

Whooooo New catalogue release day is officially here & I can share my excitement with you

I have been waiting to share this card with you Delightful decorations is one of the fabulous new stamp sets in the new ideas catalogue, I have also used Lovely as a tree for the branches Stamped in Old olive ink. The two decorations are punched out using the matching punch. The dotty decoration is from one of the stamps & the swirly red ornament is stamped in Versamark & heat embossed with white embossing powder using the swirl stamp from Baroque motifs, which has to be my favourite ever stamp. The Red dots are made using the Real red Stampin' Write pen & covered with Crystal Lacquer. The ornaments are both popped up using Stampin' dimensionals.
All of the above are from Stampin' Up & are available to purchase through me as an independent demonstrator.

What a fantastic day

After much preparation the 1st Stampin' Up experience day with fellow Demonstrators Sharon & Michelle finally arrived.

On the third attempt we were on the road to the village hall, It is a lovely new hall surrounded by fields.
As they say that many hands make light work the hall was quickly set up so A big thank you also has to go to Paul, Abi & Shaun.
We didn't have long to catch our breath before the first of our 30 ladies arrived.
We had a lovely project planned for the Morning, a super cute handbag using the new sweet pea papers & four 4 x 4 co-ordinating cards.

Side step card with Lovely as a tree

This months stampers 10 hostess Alice has asked that we use the set Lovely as a tree.
I can think of lots of lovely card ideas using this set for Christmas, but have really struggled with cards for the current season.

I came upon a card on splitcoast stampers that used the side step card fold which really looked great with this set. So I set too & made this version which ended up only using the fold & nothing of the original image.

Tutorial for side step card

After I had made this card I e-mailled Alice just to double check that I had the right set that she wanted to use on her hostess evening, & guess what the set wasn't lovely as a tree, but Trendy tree's. So I'm off to make some cards for projects using the correct set.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
