Guess what this is made from

Anyone that knows me will only need one guess
An american flat bottom bag, the type that many of our fellow crafters across the pond have their packed lunch in & throw away on a daily basis.

They are very convieniently 6" x 12" so fold in half to make a brilliant little album, Since becoming a scrapbooker I have become a real magpie, but to put a positive spin on this obsession I have also become a top recycler.

A while back Alison gave me a paper bag book to decorate, since then I have been hooked, & managed to track down a seller on e-bay & have bought a bulk pack.

For mothers day I have decorated this one using

Stamps
Playful petals 113728

Stampers 10 cards

Last night was the first meeting of our stampers 10 group since before Christmas due to the snow & illness we had been unable to meet up, I have the pleasure of doing it all over again next week with the other half of my lovely group.

My first 10 card swap

Well I like a challenge so in my first week of joining Stampin Up I decided to join a 10 card swap on ILWS. The idea of the swap is too boost your sample board & to give a boost to your inspiration. A great idea as not everyone is in their comfort zone in all four of the colour families.

The idea is to compile a group of 10 people, each of those 10 people make 10 identical cards & send them off to the swap organiser, who then sorts them into 10 sets of different cards & then sends them back to each participant.
The deadline was very tight as I joined near the end of the swap, I managed to get my 10 cards to there destination in time to beat the deadline.

Stamps: Simply said, True friend, Wheel ~ Its Beautiful

Card: Whisper white, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana

Ink: Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink

Accessories: Scallop punch, scoring board, d/s tape, glue

Friday nights alright for scrapbooking

Friday night was the start of Janes Stampin up career, good luck & thank you for a lovely evening. Scrapbooking is something I would love to experiment with. I started a scrapbook 2 years ago of our family holiday in Brittany & so far I have only managed to complete 3 pages.
Hopefully with Janes inspiration & knowledge I may actually finish a scrapbook.

Playing with colour

I managed to grab a couple of hours in the craft room this afternoon while the football was on, after I had dusted down and rid the room of cat hairs where the boys sneak in for a quiet sleep away from the kitten, I decided to have a play with some colour. One of my current favourite is the stampin up card which comes in four colour families.
Rich regals
Bold Brights

Earth elements
Soft subtles
The sets I used were my new Pick a petal & Simply said both from the current Stampin up catalogue.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
