Christmas is Coming

I am loving the Simply Scrappin' Kit Christmas Jingle it is Sadly only available Whilst stocks Last but it represents great Value for money as there is so much in there you could probably make at least 20 cards using the papers & embellishments with just the addition of some extra Cardstock & adhesive.  So here are just two cards using some of the kit.
The card stock for these cards is Real Red, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White.
The inks are Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive.
That stamp set Seasons of joy has made another appearance this week as the focal point of these two cards.
Additional items used are Word window punch, 1/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, Vintage Brads & the bling is the lovely Rhinestone Jewels from the new Stampin' Up catalogue.
All of the papers & other embellishments are from the Simply Scrappin' Kit Christmas Jingle.

First Christmas card of 2010

That is not a typo it does say the first Christmas card of 2010. With today being the 1st of August that means it is just 145 days until Christmas so I thought that I better get started.
So with the new card colours still out on my desk from last weekends cards, yes it really is a whole week since I managed to get inky fingers in my craft room I decided to use Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo & Old Olive to make this first card.

The set used is one of my favourite sets Season of Joy, I really hope that it is not one of the sets on the retirement list on 1st September.

Christmas In July ~ day 15

Christmas in July day 15
I am totally amazed that I am on day 15 of my Christmas challenge & day 2 of utilising a single Stampin' Up stamp set.
Two small cards just slightly different, if you could imaginge just how easy a whole batch of cards would be this size & in a couple of different colourways, you can see just how versatile this set really is.

After a lot of pondering.............{ 5 minutes really } I decided on my undisputed favourite Christmas set.

Christmas In July ~ day 10

Wow ! A 1/3rd of the way through July already, it makes me realise just how quickly the days turn into weeks & those weeks slip away so quickly. I have to say that I have astounded myself & if you know me, you will probably be astounded that i am still on course for my Christmas in July task.

On Saturday Dawn was making these cute little gift bags during her Christmas in July demonstration.

She started with a square of card 7cm x 7cm
( providing the base is square you can use any size )
Score a 1cm border all of the way round & make into a box lid.
Take a piece of 12" x 12" paper the height you want tour gift bag to be.
Use double sided sticky tape all the way around the edge of the base, & stick the paper all around the base & where the edges overlap use double sided stick tape to secure.

Decorate using ribbon & stamped images.

Using the cropodile hold the two top edges together and punch holes through both sides, affix the jumbo eyelets to tie the ribbon through as the bag closure.

Christmas In July ~ day 9

Something a little bit different today I thought
I have added a colour not usually associated with Christmas, I think it works well.

I think that if you only buy one set of stamps this year it should be the Season of joy set, its so versatile & I love the swirl I use it with so many other projects.

On this card the swirl is stamped in the same colour ink as the card to make a shadow effect.

Christmas In July ~ day 8

The good old British weather.......... doesn't disapoint yet again! one week a heatwave & hotter than the Bahamas the next week torrential rain & thunder storms. What is going on?
At least with the weather the way it is at the moment, I can spend guilt free time in the craft room thinking about all things Christmassy.

I see a pattern forming here Old Olive again, Real red again. I am not usually such a creature of habit, maybe I need to use the Su colour combo creator more. This site is note affiliated to Stampin' Up in any way but nevertheless a very useful tool.

Friday nights makes & a cosy weekend

These are the make & takes from friday nights Stampin up party at my house.
Michelle had two great projects for us to try & also decorating a mint Pattie ( AKA Elizabeth Shaw mint crisp )
Thank you to everyone that came along, I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

I have already booked my next party in February on Friday 20th at 7pm, but this one will be slightly different as I have decided to do a scrapbooking themed party, so if you fancy coming along then you will need to bring some photo's with you.

Both cards use my favourite seasons of Joy set

Although the picture doesn't show the colours too well we have used Ruby red & always Artichoke, now these two colours are a must have for your Christmas palette.

This card uses a combination of colours that I wouldn't have imagined together Bravo Burgundy & Sage Shadow....they work so well together its a combination I will definitely bee using again.
All of the cardstock & inks are from the co-ordinated Stampin up range.

Well it started snowing here on Friday evening and it has been that way for most of the weekend, it's not currently snowing but the sky is very white & it looks like there is plenty more snow to fall yet. The weather was just the excuse I needed to stay in and make my Sister in laws Christmas card order. I have left my new 6ft stamping table up in the lounge and have been working on 4 batches of cards all weekend, just stopping to Blurf & feed the family.

Bramble popped out to chase the kitten around the garden after she escaped.

Tallulah escaped to see what all of the fuss was about in the snow, Bramble went out & tried to chase her in, but after about 10 minutes of chasing her around the garden she came in of her own accord & then went and sought out a quiet place in the craft room.

Batch Christmas cards

I am in the middle of making my batches of Christmas cards using my favourite Stampin up stamp sets, I dont usually enjoy making large batches of the same design, but as you can see each card is very similar although each has a subtle difference.

All of the card stock I have used is Stampin up.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
