When your wish list is longer than your shopping list, this is a terrific way to budget your purchases over a 6 month period & receive hostess benefits.
By purchasing £25 of Stampin’ Up! products a month for 6 months (Not including P + P), you build your stamping supplies, stay on budget & receive free goodies! Here’s how it works:

  • In a Stampers 6 club there are 6 members
  • The club runs for 6 months
  • Each member agrees to spend a minimum of £25 per month, before postage
  • Each month a different club member is the hostess
  • You do not actually have to host a workshop – it’s like having a virtual party
  • When it’s your turn to be the hostess, you are guaranteed to receive a level one hostess set of your choice plus at least £15 to spend in the catalogue

Table top Christmas tree

I am busy putting the final touches to my two Christmas events. I have two special evenings planned for my stampers 10 & stampers 6 groups. The dates for these are Monday 6th December or Thursday 9th December at 7pm.
Whilst searching for inspiration I came across these table top tree's, so I decided to have a go.

The base of this tree is a 9cm polystyrene cone that cost just 90p from an Art & craft supplier.
You need approximately 2 sheets of designer series paper measuring 6" x 12" For the eagle eyed amongst you, yes these are last years Christmas papers, I just haven't taken delivery yet of this years Christmas papers, any day now they will be here so watch out for more Christmas projects.
The strips of paper are 1.5cm wide x 4cm long.
Top tip Wear a thimble or thumb guard as I now have a very sore thumb.
I painted the cone with a brown paint to look like the tree trunk before starting, so if there are any gaps, the white polystyrene wont show through, I used a decorating paint sample with a sponge applicator, very quick & not very messy.
I used two patterns that were double sided, so a total of four designs, I followed a pattern as i'm not very good at random!
Fold each piece of paper ( NOT creasing ) using a snail on the tip of each strip join together, I found it easier to make all of these little pieces first.
Using sequin pins ( They are shorter ) starting at the bottom pin the first row in place, then start on the second row putting it slightly offset. Carry on until the very top.
The top isn't the tidiest so I made a floppy bow.

The next tree I am going to make I will make with Ribbon pieces.

If you decide to make a tree, please send me a link to the pictures.

Stampers 6 project

On the Monday before I headed off to convention I had my stampers 6 group and we made some lovely little divided boxes to fill with decorated sweets & gift tags.

I had a sheet on the box project which we all made together and I showed my ladies how to make quick & easy decorated sweets using the Elizabeth Shaw mint crisps. Then using all of the leftovers from The Simply Scrappin' Christmas jingle set the ladies then made & decorated tags of their own using Delightful decorations & Sparkly & bright stamp sets. The punches are the tag punch, large tag punch & the ornament punch.

The mini chocolate bards on the left of the picture are Dairy milk miniatures, the type that go in Children's chocolate machines at Christmas & they are £1 for 20
I made this project with 6 ladies & still have over half of the Simply Scrappin' kit left & they all took away pieces of the kit to make more tags at home, I cant believe what brilliant value this kit is.

All of the above product with the exception of the chocolates is made by Stampin' Up & is available to purchase through me as an independent creative coach.

A new stampers 6

Last night was the first meeting of my new Stampers 6
There were only 4 ladies last night but we got off to a great start & made some lovely cards using one of my favourite sets Seasons of Joy.
I don't often make A5 cards but it worked really well for this design.
The base of the card is very vanilla with an Old Olive layer. The tree from Seasons of joy was stamped onto Vary Vanilla cardstock in Old Olive & the lovely versatile swirl from the set was stamped across the corners in Cherry Cobbler, cant you tell I love swirls. next I stamped the Bella Toile stamp onto Very Vanilla using the beautiful festive Cherry Cobbler ink. I then used 1 1/8" square punch to punch out 14 squares, I recommend that you layout all of the elements of the card before gluing anything down.
The greeting is from Sincere salutations & is again stamped in Cherry Cobbler, can you see a pattern forming here. The greeting was punched using the scallop oval. I finished the card off using a rhinestone jewel on the star of the tree & a ribbon wrap using Very Vanilla Tafetta.

The above picture is the second card we made which is a slider card & the picture below is the card when it slides open.
The slider card is made from Rich Razzleberry card stock which has been scored at 3 3/4" - 7 1/2" and folded on both score lines. Yo then need two layers one for the inside of the card & one for the layers on the front of the card. I have used the same colours inside that I have used on the front.
2 pieces of Pretty In Pink 9 cm x 14 cm
2 pieces of Whisper white card 8.5 cm x 13.5 cm
( sorry for the mixed measurements but my scoring board is American & in inches & my cutter is in cm)
These pieces make up the layers but I do recommend stamping them before mounting them.
Again this card although not Christmas it uses the swirl from Seasons of Joy Christmas stamp set.
On the front the swirl was stamped in Pink Pirouette twice freehand & then stamped as a shadow in Early Espresso using the Stamp a ma jig to line them up. On the inside Layer the greeting from Sincere salutations is stamped at the top of the Whisper White cardstock & the swirls at the bottom again in Early Espresso.
On the Pretty in Pink card two of the Butterfly solid stamps from Flight of the Butterfly in Pretty In Pink ink & punched out using the butterfly punch. Then using Melon Mambo ink stamp two of the flower butterflies onto vellum & quickly sprinkle with Heat & Stick powder, Heat & whilst still hot sprinkle with Dazzling diamonds glitter & heat too set. Punch these two butterflies out & assemble using glue dots.on the centre of each butterfly allowing for movement in the wings.
Additional supplies 1" circle punch, 1 /4" Square punch, 36cm White Grosgrain ribbon.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
