Having a catch up day

Last night was my Stampers 10 group & it turned into a loud evening of lovelieness, It is a really lovely group who all get on together, after all for most this is their 3rd stampers 10.
They chatted & laughed all evening & we only managed to make one card which is the same card as we made on Monday in the stampers 6 / 7 group. We decided to leave the second card until next time.
I was so wide awake when they all left last night that I sat up playing a stupidly addictive game on Facebook until 1.15 this morning, fortunately I'm not working now until next week so I have been playing catch up today on all of the tidying up from last night, the house is now clean, all the washing is done, just the drying & ironing to go & the craft room to tidy & hoover.
With all that finished before lunch I have spent the afternoon editing photo's & catching up on my bog posts.

I thought that I would share with you a couple of cards that didn't make the selection for our next event, they were for Sundays event but that has now been re-scheduled.

Is it really only Tuesday?

Yesterday felt like it went on forever, well for a whole 17 hours in fact & most of those were spent on my feet, I finally sat down at 11.45pm last night & for anyone that knows me I don't do late nights very well.
My day started at 5.19 yesterday morning when the alarm clock didn't go off, Problem number one Paul was being picked up for a week of working away at 5.30.
6.30 am The alarm does go off for me to get up, To make an exam breakfast for Abi & to get ready for work myself. Abi had the last of her three English exams, despite making breakfast & smoothies & sandwiches & wash everything up I managed to leave in time to walk to work. When I arrived at work there was no lighting in the locker room, I couldn't find a thing.
8.45 I went up to my floor & my boss was having Hysterics, she went into her office & when she turned the light on she got dive bombed by a pigeon, Nobody was available to catch it as they were all trying to sort the electrical fault, the rest of the day ran fairly smoothly despite spending a lot of it on my own.
When I got home I found a pile of clothes that should have been in Paul's bag....Oooop's
Very quick dinner & lay up for my new stampers 6/7.
Fortunately that went without a hitch, 11.45pm I finally reacquainted myself with the sofa.

One of tonights cards was a shameless case of a card my Upline Michelle had made, Can you spot the differences?

A cased card from the new Mini

One of the most frequent questions I get asked as a demonstrator is where do you constantly get your inspiration from?
Well the truth is anywhere I see colour, like catalogues of bedding & paint samples. gardening catalogues as Mother nature does a pretty good job of putting on a pleasing display of colours & the most simple of all is type the name of your stamp set & the words Stampin' Up into google & then click on the images search button on the left hand side & Voila a whole host of inspiring projects using any given stamp set or product.
This card is shamelessly cased from the new mini catalogue, It is not a direct copy, just a starting point.

Highly recommended

Despite last nights celebrations having to be brief due to exam revision we had a lovely time, we took Abi to the Waffle house in Norwich for tea, what a treat we had, the food is amazing & very reasonably priced, all I can say is if you are ever in Norwich, check out this tiny little gem in the heart of the city.
I pass the Waffle house on my way to work every morning, I think for the sake of my waistline its just as well that they open for breakfast after I start work.
I had a two course waffle meal, the first course was Ham & Mushrooms with cheese sauce over a hot waffle. Then for the second course I had a spiced fruit waffle with Ice cream & maple sauce.
All of us completely cleared their plates & is looking forward to the next family celebration, just as well we went for our weigh in before going out!!

My Beautiful Baby is 16 today

I'm feeling father nostalgic today as my baby is 16, I know we all say it but I cannot believe how fast time flies by. Poor Abi has her second day of exams today, she has worked hard & revised for months, so I have everything crossed.
We are off out for a quick meal tonight so she can get back early & revise, we're off to the Waffle House in Norwich I've never been before &I know it will definitely blow the pro points budget, good job we are all going for our weigh in before we go & have a whole week to work it off.
All weekend I was making samples for the forthcoming all day event, every time  Abi popped into the craft room she hinted that she wanted her card made using the Baby Blossoms set which suited the card I had in mind perfectly.

Dusty Stamp set

Own up, We all have them, Dusty stamp sets that often get put on a shelf as something new comes along, I know this to be true as I talk to crafter's of every age group everyday. We are stash~a~holics, as soon as our favourite brand brings out some lovely new stash we NEED it!!
I am no different from crafter reading this blog, only in my case as a demonstrator I NEED to demonstrate all of the lovely new stash so I feel justified making every Stampin' Up purchase. Well the stamp set in question is Sense of time, I originally bought this as soon as it became available, I had some scrapbook layouts in mind for this set, I don't remember if I every got round to making the layouts, {Mental note to self check scrapbooks & add to my to do list.}

Whilst I has hopping around blog land I found a card using this set that inspired me to ink up my stamps. I was actually looking for inspiration for the Baby blossoms set when I first mounted it & I came across this blog by Cherie Franklin & this card is a case of one of her beautiful cards, Thank you for inspiring me to dust of a sense of time.

The card is so pretty & girly, {but mental note to self, look for inspiration for masculine cards, you currently have none in your stash.}

This set is an absolute must have set from the current mini catalogue, it is just fabulous & so en trend at the moment & so in keeping with the Vintage / Cath Kidston style.
I have to be truthful & say I got mine FREE on of the perks of being a demonstrator is earning free stamp sets in promotions throughout the year.
When the set arrived I was initially not even going to mount it as two step stamping sets used to scare the life out of me, But now I am totally in love.
I found a sheet on the internet on a fellow demo's site that simplified the stamp set & took all of the brain fudge out of using it. I had seen so many beautiful projects, once I started stamping with this set I was hooked.

Monday Nights Stampers 6

Monday night was the last meeting of my current Stampers 6 group, we have enjoyed some lovely evenings in each others company & all but one lady has rejoined, we have also had two more ladies wanting to join us, making a stampers 7, which starts in May.
When I was preparing the class I wanted to use the Baby Blossoms but I was aware that some of the Ladies don't enjoy using the Stamp a ma jig, so I was apprehensive when I showed them this card.

I was so pleased with the reaction when I showed this card, everyone loved it & they all agreed that it looked very Cath Kidston, when they made these comments they didn't realise that they had to make their own background paper as they thought that it was patterned paper, after a quick refresher with the stamp a ma jig everyone made this fab card & everyone agreed that the set was one of their new favourites.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
