9 weeks old Today

Todays Kitten diaries will be the last in the current series & peanut Butter & jelly went of to live with their new Mummy & Daddy yesterday & have already settled in very well using their new Mummy as a climbing frame, she cant say I didn't warn her.

Jelly keeping warm on my Netbook

She will be a beautiful cat

" No I'm not moving this is a perfect spot warm netbook & sunshine, I'm happy here.

Mum I'm a big boy now, I dont need you to wash behind My ears.
When Alice came to collect the kittens yesterday we weighed them before she took them.
Jelly is the placid one & sat quite happily on the scales.
When she was born she weighed 117g & just 9 weeks on she weighs 780g she gained 663g in that short time.
Weighing Peanut Butter was much harder he is a real livewire & doesn't sit still, so he ended up being weighed about 3 times before we got an actual reading.
When he was born on 21st February he weighed 143g and now 9 weeks on he weighs 1219g his weight increased by a massive 1076g.
So with the kittens going to their new home today it was a funny day but one question remains to be answered!! Did the Daddy cat who got in last week catch Maddie in season?
Watch this space over the next 4 weeks to see if we are expecting again, obviously part of me hopes not so Maddies body has time to recover, but speaking to the vet he has said providing she is well fed & nourished she will be fine. But there is part of me that has got used to having the babies around.

Easter for the kids

It is amazing how quickly  the scraps build up when your a crafter, so as I have a basket of scraps sitting on my desk I thought that it was time to make a couple of Punch Art cards & with Easter just around the corner what better excuse than these two cute cards

The backing papers are from the Designer series paper stacks. These stacks are so useful & of course they co-ordinate with the whole Stampin' Up colour range.

All of the Lamb is made using the range of punches from Stampin' Up range & they are so versatile.

A beautifully simple Happy Birthday card in crumb cake with pastel shades. The Neighbourhood wheel was stamped onto Watercolour paper with the basic black ink.

To colour the individual houses I used the Stampin' Write marker pens, I scribbled onto the Pringle lid & then used an Aqua painter brush filled with water to pick up the colour & colour each individual house, set them aside to dry before cutting them out.
The flowers are also made with the Watercolour paper, I love how this paper reacts with the inks & water. The flowers are all punched using the smallest flower on the Boho blossoms punch, each flower is then edged with a pastel colour from the Stampin' Write pens using the brush tip. Then a few dots in the middle with the Black Stampin' Write pens using the fine tip. To shape the flowers use the soft mat from the mat pack & the slimmer end of the Tombow glue to shape the flowers. Crystal effects in the centre of the flowers & a light sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds. The branches are cut from the two step Bird punch, with the leaf markings drawn on using the Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write marker.

Dyed flowers

The other night I was playing with the ink refills & working on projects to get the most out of the refills. I cam up with the idea of using the ink refills as dyes. Using the paper daisies from the Stampin' Up catalogue.
To dye the flowers It only takes a single drop of the ink refill, dropped into something like a plastic pringle tub lid & then spray the ink with water to disperse & dilute it.
I tried a couple of different ways with these flowers the first I put the dry flower into the dye & moved it around until it had been completely covered. The second flower I spritzed lightly with water before putting it in the dye & that achieved a slightly more tye dyed effect.
If you want to use the flowers immediately then you can dry them with a hairdryer or a heat tool, being careful not to melt the pringle lid like I did.

Combining Sets

I'm sure that if your a fan of Stampin' Up or have been reading my blog for a while that it hasn't escaped you that the Stampin' up stamps come in sets that in themselves are very versatile, but how often do you combine sets to make projects. I know that it was something that I rarely used to do.
This card shows how stamp sets can be easily combined to make stunning projects. This card also combines a colour combination that I have never used before.

This card uses three sets of stamps

The card on the left is the completed card with the Itty bitty Bits stamps, the card on the right is the card that I started making at the class & didn't have time to finish, but I think that it also looks good without the Itty Bitty Bits.

Monday Nights Stampers 6

Monday night was the last meeting of my current Stampers 6 group, we have enjoyed some lovely evenings in each others company & all but one lady has rejoined, we have also had two more ladies wanting to join us, making a stampers 7, which starts in May.
When I was preparing the class I wanted to use the Baby Blossoms but I was aware that some of the Ladies don't enjoy using the Stamp a ma jig, so I was apprehensive when I showed them this card.

I was so pleased with the reaction when I showed this card, everyone loved it & they all agreed that it looked very Cath Kidston, when they made these comments they didn't realise that they had to make their own background paper as they thought that it was patterned paper, after a quick refresher with the stamp a ma jig everyone made this fab card & everyone agreed that the set was one of their new favourites.
For the card I used

Fab Birthday Weekend

Thank you for all of your Birthday wishes for yesterday, I has a lovely day at the crop with Abi & my crafting friends, I had a yummy Thorntons chocolate cake from Marie & Steph, I was sung too by Noah & Maddie which was lovely. I did an Easter card with the ladies so I didn't manage to finish any crafting of my own, but still had a great time.
Abi decorated the porch with Birthday Balloons & I have a helium Balloon that so far I have managed to keep the kittens away from.

On Sunday I had the choice of places to go & rather predictably I chose Southwold, for a walk around the town & then along the beach for a walk with my camera at the ready to catch some pictures of the beach Huts.

I would just love to own one of these.
But the one that we saw in the estate agents window was asking for OIRO £60k, I thing I had better remember to do the lottery on a regular basis.
Its sad that some of the beach Huts are in a poor state of repair, If I had one it would be Melon Mambo & Tangerine Tango stripes or maybe Pacific point & Pear pizzazz stripes, But whatever colour I chose I know I would cherish it.
The Beach Huts are just so English I cant imagine another country in the world where people would pay 60K for what is essentially a garden shed with a sea view.

One of the other things I love is the Piddling clock, However I hate Piers & the piddling clock is half way down the pier, so I can share this pictures with you I braved the pier.......Right to the very end.

On the hour & half hour the cheeky clock piddles on the unexpected crowds that gather to watch.

After we had had beautiful fish & chips al fresco watching life pass by on the promenade at Southwold, we drove to find the disappearing town of Dunwich, The coasts of the east coast are being eroded by the lack of sea defences & Dunwich has already given up much already to the sea.
When we couldn't find the road that just stops & the sea starts we went for a cup of tea in the beach car park & saw this row of classic Triumph cars.

Not everyone wanted tea !! The Ice Cream is Abi's I did have a lick, but most ended up on my nose, Dont ask.

Thank you for a lovely Birthday weekend.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
