Christmas in July ~ verses

Christmas brings us closer
It's a special time of year
A family time and one to share
With those we hold most dear
Christmas brings us closer
And like this wish it brings
Some very precious memories
And life's most happy things

***

It's Christmas Eve, time for bed.
But not an eye will close.
Too much excitement in the air,
To let you even doze.

So make a magic potion
To help you fall asleep:
Then Santa and his helpers
Can down the chimney creep.

Pour this cocoa in a mug,
And with hot water mix:
Then drop in the magic kiss,
And stir with the candy stick!

Add a few marshmallows,
And sip it slowly down.
Crawl into bed and snuggle in -
The 'magic sleep' will come!

***

One of the real joys of the Holiday Season is the opportunity to say
"Thank You" and to wish you the very best for the New Year!

***

Thinking of You
at Christmas Time
May your days be merry,
your heart be light -
your holiday happy,
your season bright!

***

Life's most
beautiful things
are not seen
with the eyes,
but felt
with the heart.
Wishing you
a special season
of the heart.

Merry Christmas

***

May the wonder
that is Christmas
touch the child
within your heart.

Merry Christmas

***

Because in everything I do
You always have a part,
Because a loving thought of you
Is always in my heart,
Because each little wish of mine
You've tried to make come true --
At Christmas time, I want to say
How dearly I love you.

***

I know I'm sometimes thoughtless
And forget to say and do
The many little things I should
To show my love for you
But since it is Christmas time,
I got (made) this card just to say,
That always, deep within my heart
I love you more and more each day!

***

People really act weird at Christmas time! What other time of year do you sit in front of a dead tree in the living room and eat nuts and sweets out of your socks?

~ Threads of A Friendship ~

Contents: medium size card with the poem below on it and a tiny spool of thread glued to card.
Place inside of a zip lock sandwich bag.

Threads of A Friendship That Will Never Break:
Thank you for the laughter, for the good times we share.
Thanks for always listening, for trying to be fair.
Thank you for the comfort, when things are going bad.
Thank you for the shoulder to cry on when I'm sad.
This gift is a reminder that all my lifetime through,
I will be thanking heaven for a special friend like you.

Apache Wedding Blessing

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.

Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth for the other.

Now there is no more loneliness.

Now you are two persons,
but there is only one life before you.

May your days together be good and long
upon the earth.

Easter Verses

Easter brings the best surprises,

Baby chicks and buds in bloom

And Spring sunshine

That fills your room.

****

Guess who's hop, hop, hopping your way?

To wish you a hap, hap, happy Holiday.

Loaded with goodies made just for you.

It's the Easter Bunny

That's who.

****

The tiny bunny

Is working all day long

Decorating Easter eggs

While humming a song

He is having so much fun

Making eggs for you and me

And small chocolate bunnies

That he gives away free

But when he is finished

He'll bring them your way

In a big coloured basket

Upon Easter day.

****

It's Eastertime, once again

This hand-made card's to say

Have a basketful of Springtime Smiles

And a happy Easter Day

****

This is a special hand made Easter card

With a message to impart

May you enjoy some Springtime magic

These words are from the heart

****

Easter duck and Easter chick,

Easter eggs with chocolate thick,

Easter hats for one and all,

Easter bunny makes a call!

Happy Easter always brings

Such a lot of pleasant things!

****

Here's a special Easter wish
That you'll have lots of fun,
Cos you're a special favourite
Who is loved by everyone

****

Have a very happy Easter
And may you find
Spring has left
The Winter behind

****

For renewal of life
For birds that sing
Thanks for Easter
Thanks for Spring

****

This is a special hand made Easter card
With a message to impart
May you enjoy some Springtime magic
These words are from the heart

Alternative Christmas verse

If Santa was....
If Santa was a Henderson or any surname
Cockney
Liverpudlian
Brummie
Geordie
Taff
Jock
from Anytown
etc

If Santa was a Geordie
He'd be a builder on the side
Because chimneys are very narrow
And Santa's very wide

Overnight, there would appear
A big hole in your roof
And you'd know that Santa did it
But you wouldn't have the proof

In January, S. Claus Roofing Contractors
Would take your remaining money
While you saved up for the arrival
Of the Geordie Easter Bunny

**************************************

If Santa was as shrewd as you
He'd take a royalty share
Of the billions of Santa cards
Published every year

He'd be bigger than Walt Disney
And Spielberg put together
He'd move to a tax haven
And enjoy the better weather

And if you expected him to visit you
You'd have to save up all the Summer
House calls are expensive
Have you ever called a plumber?

Rubber Stampers Warning

I just got this and thought to share it with you all!

Does this sound familiar to you?

RUBBER STAMP WARNING !!!

A recent study indicated that rubber stamps and
embossing powders give off certain pheromones that
actually hypnotize women and cause them to purchase
unreasonable amounts.

When stored in large quantities in enclosed spaces,
the pheromones (Rubber) cause memory loss and induce
the nesting syndrome (similar to the one squirrels
have before the onset of winter i.e. storing food),
therefore perpetuating their species.

Sound tests have also revealed that the rubber emits a
very high pitched sound, heard only by a select few. A
breed of women known as “Rubber Stamper’s ". When
played backwards on an LP, the sounds are heard as
chants," buy me, stamp me. Emboss me ".

Studies have also indicated that aliens have
inhabitated the earth, helping to spread the effects
that these Stamps have on the human population.
It's also been experienced that these same pheromones
cause a pathological need to hide these Stamp
purchases when taken home ( or at least blend them
into the existing stash ), and when asked by a
significant other if the stamp is new , the reply is:
"I've had it for a while

Snowman Poop

Snowman Poop

I hear you've been naughty,
So listen, here's the scoop...
I'm running short on coal this year,
so you get "Snowman Poop"
Love, Santa

[use mini-marshmallows]

Reindeer Poop

Reindeer

We were awakened when we heard Santa call,
"Dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
But soon we discovered out on the front lawn,
Santa and his reindeer were gone.
With our little shovels, we started to scoop,
all of the droppings.....YUCK, reindeer poop!
So, then we generously filled you up a sack,
Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your snack.

[The above can be made with a cardboard french fry container
and stamped with Christmas stamps all over and then filled with
little plastic bags with malteasers]

The Christmas pudding ~ poem

The Christmas Pudding

Into the basin put the plums,
Stir-about, stir-about, stir-about!

Next the good white flour comes,
Stir-about, stir-about, stir about!

Sugar and peel and eggs and spice,
Stir-about, stir-about, stir-about!

Mix them and fix them and cook them twice,
Stir-about, stir-about, stir-about!

What is a Grandchild?

WHAT IS A GRANDCHILD?

What is a grandchild?

Well may you ask.

It’s a song in the heart

It’s a funny clown mask

It’s an ache in the back

And swings in the park

It’s crumbs on the floor

And a cry in the dark

It’s kittens and tadpoles

It’s jigsaws and snap

It’s scissors and paste

A squirm on your lap

It’s a quivering lip

A hot clutching hand

It’s a stake in the future

The hope of our land

Reindeer Food

Reindeer food

You need sandwich bags to put it in, and then you can either print the message and fix it onto a tag then attach to the bag with ribbon and a bow or print the message directly onto sticky labels and stick them on the bags, the choice is yours.

Mix together:

a little sugar

a little oatmeal

2 tbsps of glitter (substitute edible sprinkles if you live in an area with wildlife)

or even add chocolate chips, nuts or bird seed.

Messages:

Sprinkle this food on your lawn at night,

the moon will make it sparkle bright.

Santa's special reindeer fly and roam

and this magical food will guide them to your home.

OR

On Christmas Eve sprinkle this magical dust on your front lawn. The glitter will sparkle in the moonlight and the smell of the oatmeal will help Santa and his reindeer find your house.

OR

It's the night before Christmas and all through the house, everyone has eaten - even the mouse.

You give Santa a mince pie and a glass of milk too,

please don't forget the reindeer and give them some food.

Open this bag and sprinkle outside,

then hop into bed, Santa is soon to arrive.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

OR

On Christmas Eve before you sleep,

Step outside and take a peek.

Can you see them? Are they near?

You don't think so? Never fear!

While still outside do this simple deed:

Sprinkle this packet of special feed.

The glow of the stardust, the smell of oats

Will draw to YOUR house those special folks!

They can't miss you now, there's nothing to fear,

For this special mix is guaranteed

To draw Santa and his famous reindeer.

Don’t forget to have some chocolate coated raisins to leave as reindeer droppings to leave out as evidence of the visit on Christmas morning.

Santa Key Card ~ poem

No chimney for Santa to enter, you say?
Well, we know of a very "Special" way.
Next to your door where Santa will see,
Just hang this Magic Santa Key!
So just be happy and have some fun.
With this Magic Key, Santa's sure to come!

Snowman poem

Snowman
by William Cline

In a yard, a snowman will stand.
A little boy will take his hand.
They'll stand and talk for a little while.
On the snowman's face, there's a happy smile.

As I look at the child's face,
I know there's nothing can take the place,
Of a snowman on a winter day,
As all the children run and play.

I think of years that have traveled by,
Since I looked towards the sky,
And watched the snowflakes tumble down,
To make a white blanket o'er the ground.

We all seem to grow up fast,
And look to years that have raced past,
When we were filled with that wonderful joy,
Like the happiness I see in that little boy.

Next year when the snow comes down,
There'll be snowmen all around.
And when the ground is covered anew,
Who knows! Maybe I'll build one too!!

Tomorrows Inspiration

I have found a poem on the Internet, author unknown and I am going to use that for the inspiration for tomorrows Christmas cards.

I made myself a snowman, as perfect as can be,
I thought I'd keep it as a pet, and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pyjamas, and a pillow for his head.
Then last night it ran away, but first ~ it wet the bed!

I did manage to make some lovely cards yesterday, only 4 as I had the help!! of Sassy cat AKA asbo.
I will upload the new additions to my gallery after the weekend as my son took away the battery charger for my camera and ALL of the re-chargeable batteries on his sailing trip, my fault I know as I asked him to take lots of piccies & I would scrapbook his trip for him.
Well I am off to play in my craft room.....I have sorted Abi out with a new Wii game and some Hannah Montanna books, that should be enough for a couple of hours crafting.
Happy Crafting

Snowman poem card

This would make a lovely Christmas card for a grand-parent.

A hammer white DL card blank has been used here.

Cut a piece of red glitter card to 17.5 x 8.5cm. The ribbon here appears to be long lengths that have been doubled over but you can cheat here to save ribbon - cut short lengths and stick them to the back of the card with tape - a loop at the top and 4 straight pieces at the bottom. Mount the glitter card to the card blank with double sided tape.

The poem that appears below has been printed in dark green print onto white pearlescent card and then trimmed to measure 15 x 8cm. The font used on the card is Monotype Corsiva, size 12, although this won't appear below if you do not have this font on your PC. Choose another font that you like if this is the case.

Stick the poem to the card with double sided tape and add a wooden snowman head from the wooden Christmas assortment with tape or glue. Punch holly from green pearlescent card using a large holly punch. I've trimmed off the stem here and added three 'berries' which have been cut from red pearlescent card with an 1/8 inch hole punch. Stick with tacky glue.

Santa key card

This is a cute idea, great for those without chimneys! This is very simple as it's mostly all done!

It's been printed onto white pearlescent card and trimmed close to the snowflake border. Mount this onto a red pearlescent rectangle measuring 13.5 x 9cm and in turn onto a hammer white C6 card blank with double sided tape.

Stick a gold card key into the space with double sided tape. Decorate the key with a ribbon bow made from red organza ribbon and some red gems, both fixed with tacky glue.

Finally, add a Santa charm using a sticky pad.

A Craftaholic’s Prayer

A Craftaholic’s Prayer

Dear Lord,

I’m going to need some notice

Before my days are done.

You see, I’m a craftaholic.

A fact not known to some.

My craft room, it is bulging

All corners, crannies and nooks

There's loads of boxes under the bed,

I hope no one ever looks

I tell myself when shopping,

“No more craft bits today,”

But the craft shops are like magnets

Drawing me their way.

I’m totally at their mercy

Just "need" a dozen of each.

Then I hurry home to hide them

Before the family starts to preach.

So Lord, I’ll need a little time

To dispose of all this stuff.

And Lord, can we just keep all of this,

Between the two of us

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

although at times I am a pain.

I really am a crafty one!
