Inky fingers

I have an aching neck from sitting at the sewing machine making bunting so I decided to take a break and get Inky and make a couple of Christmas cards. I am loving the Dasher stamp from the mini catalogue & I really hope that he will stay with us in the New Stampin' Up catalogue.
The cardstock is Kraft that is soon to be renamed Crumb cake & Garden Green. The inks are Versamark Garden Green & Creamy caramel. The stamp sets are Wondrous gift, Dasher & En Francais. The backing papers are from the great value scrappin kit called Christmas Jingle. The images are hi-lighted using the shimmer mists that are in the current mini catalogue, I have a sneaking suspicion that they may appear in the new catalogue as the are beautiful & very versatile.

The cardstock used in this card is Kraft & Ruby red. The inks are Versamark, Creamy caramel & Old olive, I love old olive it just keeps sneaking onto my cards I am so glad that it isn't one of the retiring colours at the end of September. The stamps used are Large medallion, Spotlight on Christmas & Dasher. The backing papers are from the scrappin kit Christmas Jingle. Dasher is stamped in Versamark & covered with the Heat & stick powder, heated with the heat tool & then covered in the dazzling diamonds glitter & reheated briefly. Very vanilla Taffeta ribbon is tied around the backing paper with a fake bow. The sentiment joy is from the spotlight on Christmas set & stamped in Old olive onto craft card & punched out using the 1 1/4" punch & mounted on a 1 3/8" circle of Ruby red card, I used a blender pen & the shimmer mist in Champagne to hi-light the sentiment.

Bunting on my mind

With Bunting taking up a lot of my thoughts & time I thought that i'd make a bunting card. I idea was from a card design in craft stamper a few weeks ago using heart stamps that Jeanette one of my stampers 6 pointed out to me, so I thought that I would give it a try using my Stampin' Up stash.
I have used the I {heart} Hearts set & Happy everything set, the papers are from the Sweet pea paper stack. The frill at the top of the card was stamped with the largest heart stamp from the I {heart} Hearts set & then the bottom of the heart was cut off to make the frill. The idea was to use the bottom of the heart for the bunting but it was a little too big & didn't work as planned. back to the drawing board & I knew that i'd read somewhere that you could use the Large Star punch to make the bunting.....hey presto the first bunting card.

All of the products used on this card are from Stampin' Up & are available to purchase through me.

I cannot believe that I am Mum to a 19 year old

I really cannot believe that I am Mum to a 19 year old, where does the time go? Happy Birthday Dan I hope you have a wonderful 20th year.
It has been quite a week in our household, starting with A level results & Dan got 'A' levels in Photography & psychology which means he now has 13 GCSE's & 6 'A' Levels which meant that he had the grades he needed to get into his first choice university at Nottingham Trent. Then Came GCSE results for Abi who got 4 B's & 5 C's which is a very good start on the exams she has taken & she is already looking towards year 11.
Last week my website went live which Dan & Paul have designed for me to advertise my new venture a bunting hire company, so if you need to decorate an event then take a look www.lavenderbunting.co.uk so I have been working hard during the evenings and weekends making the beautiful bunting. Last week I was making some beautiful boy bunting & dying the cotton tape turquoise I had a mishap & too many things on my mind, I went to fish the cotton tape out of the dye & instead of using the wooden spoon that was sat next to the bowl I plunged my hands in. Much to my family's amusement I spent the next few days looking like a smurf.
I made Dan a card for his birthday using some Scrapbook papers that I had for a layout with a photographic theme.
The words on the card are stamped with Basic phrases set & 'Dan' is stamped with the Just perfect alphabet also from Stampin' Up.

A jolly Holly Christmas ~ Make & take

The second of Wednesdays make & takes is using A Jolly Holly Christmas
The tags on the card are made from Kraft card & the card blank is Chocolate chip, the backing papers are from the sweet pea paper stack. The stamps were coloured using the Stampin write pens.
Dis you know that you can create your own reinforcing rings using two of the Stampin' Up circle punches.
Firstly punch using the 1/4" circle, not too close to the edge, then using the 1/2" circle punch held upside down over the first hole & punch & you then get the fake reinforcing rings

All of the above products are from Stampin' Up & are available to purchase through me.

My other passion

I treated myself last week & thought you'd like to see my latest Pandora bracelet that is a charity bracelet for Breast cancer. Isn't it lovely & pink.

I also found this great comparisons chart so now if I see a bead by another company I can check that it fits my bracelet.

How would you like to earn Free Stampin' Up goodies? & build up your stash ?

I am starting up a brand new Stampers 6 club with effect from September

Heres the deal!!

*JUST 3 PLACES LEFT*
I need 6 ladies to join the club who commit to spending a minimum of £25 a month (plus P&P) for 6 months September - March. This is without a December meeting, which I can do ( If required ) as an additional meeting with a draw for hostess, so the chance of a bonus hostess month.
*
Each month one of the 6 ladies will be classed as the "hostess" for that month and will receive freebies of the minimum of a Level 1 stamp set and £15 worth of goodies from the catalogue. Dont worry being hostess simply means you get freebies that month, it doesnt mean you have to let us all come round to your house!!!!!

*
I hold a workshop at my house where we do two make & take projects that I design for you, You don't have to attend the workshops, as some of my stampers are distance stampers & they get a kit with their order.

*
You will receive a free Stampin Up catalogue at the start of the club (
this will be the new release catalogue on 1st October) and any further mini catalogues that might appear during the club run.

*
Occasionally I will send out challenges and prizes to some lucky winners

Brayering

Have you got hang of the Brayering technique?
I know that it is something that I would like to do more of & I am convinced that it is the type of technique that more is more & if you only dabble with it you don't get the best effects a little bit like vintage, the more ink you put down on paper & the messier your fingers get the better the results, where usually when you go to a class the demo will always say"less is more".
When I was researching Brayering I came across this blog & it is truly awesome, Michelle Zindorff has it off to a fine art. Check out her tutorials.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
