Finally a Mothers Day card worth sending

I started the day of with all good intentions of going straight into the craft room & making my Mum's Mothers Day card, but the good intentions didn't last long when I got waylaid by the spring clean that I have been threatening to start for the last couple of weeks, last week I was laid low with Migraines & the week before that I had backache all week so cleaning & painting were the last thing on my mind.

Today I managed to clean & clear 3 of the 15 kitchen cupboards, The top of the double cupboards over the oven & managed to fill the Kitchen table with Charity shop donations. I also managed to bag up & weigh out all of the Cereal, Rice, Pasta, & Cous Cous into Pro point size bags.

I am now looking forward too my two & a half weeks off from the middle of next week.

So here is the card I made to post to Mum.

Cardstock
Shimmery White
Wild Wasabi
Certainly Celery
Pretty In Pink

Ink

Rose red

Tools

The card fold is a double twisted Easel card that starts life as an 8" square of card.

Now all I have to do is remember to take it into work with me in the morning & get it in the post, wish me luck.

Weight Watchers lament

Hello, do you know me?
well if you don't you should
I'm half a pound of lovely fat
who'd stay here if I could

No-one wants to lose me
so i'll just hang around
If lost, i'll hear you moan and say
"it's only half a pound"

You think I'm not worth losing
and wonder why you came
but keep on moaning every week
and they all will think the same

Then with you I'll gladly stay
I'll stick to you like glue
around your Leg's, your chin and hips
and other parts of you

My fellow halves will come along
and join up for a laugh
so the moral of my tale is this
be grateful for each half!!

Would you believe me if I told you I went into my craft room this morning with the intention of making my Mum's Mothers day card, but Lying on the desk were some part kits from last weeks stampers 10 that didn't get used, I hate waste so I started on the kit pieces to make up some samples. So now its nearly quarter to four & I still haven't made a Mothers day card, Where does the day go? Who steals the hours? Cos If I find them i'll be chasing them off.

5 weeks old now ~ Kitten Diaries

Wow just 5 weeks ago these were just very tiny fluffy bundles that did nothing but eat & squeak & now they have changed so much and are becoming independent from Mum for longer periods of time everyday. I am constantly amazed by their different personalities, although one thing that they do share is the love of cuddles.

The kittens are becoming more aware of their surroundings everyday & that includes when I'm stalking them with my camera out, they even appear to be posing for photo's here.

On Thursday peanut butter has decided to try solid food for the first time, he ate his way through 2 tablespoons of kitten food like a pro, then promptly flaked out for the rest of the evening, he now has kitten food twice a day, we have tried tempting Jelly but she isn't interested in the food yet preferring to feed of Mum still, she was much tinier at birth than peanut Butter.

Jelly posing for the camera on her perch at the end of the sofa, where she now likes to climb up to every evening for a cuddle with her human family, she still uses the route of climbing up Paul's leg

On Sunday peanut butter learn't to climb up on the sofa by himself, which left little jelly squealing on the floor until he was lifted up to join her brother.
The kittens are in for extra cuddles this week as Dan is home from University for a week for the easter break, I know it's not Easter yet, but term resumes before Easter!!

PB & J had a visit from their new Mummy & their Auntie Kate this week, & they did try & make a getaway in Auntie Kates handbag.

Double twisted Easel card

Double twisted Easel card ~ Top view
Do you ever have one of those days when inspiration strikes & you are in the middle of something else & cannot act on the inspiration. Well that happened to me this week, I have had a busy week with work, & a stampers 10 class & then I have also hurt my back which is still very tender and a real nuisance as I have been trying to excercise , but the other evening inspiration struck about two new card folds, I had to go into the craft room about 10pm on my way to bed & make the basic design out of scrap card before I forgot what I was trying to achieve.
I have made a few of the twisted Easel cards that I first saw on Monicas blog, but I had the idea to make a double twisted Easel card.

This is the prototype Double twisted Easel card.

Chain mail suits needed

It's so hard to believe that only 4 weeks ago this little bundles of fluff were just 12 hours old, It still amazes me how quickly you can fall in love.

P Butter & Jelly now spend about 2 hours a day awake, they run & jump & they have learnt how to climb up your legs for a cuddle. Maddie is an amazing mum & she is now starting to teach them how to play fight, which neither Abi or I like.

They are so cute & have started to follow you from room to room downstairs.

The hardest of cards

We all know what are the hardest cards to make, other than mens cards, Sympathy cards & I needed to make three last week, but didn't feel that it was appropriate to show them last week.
My Children lost their paternal Grandfather back at the end of February & last week was the funeral, a difficult day for everyone, Made harder by the fact that we have been divorced for over 12 years.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
