My first baby shower

Dont panic family......................., it's not me who's pregnant.
Abi & I have just been to our first baby shower to celebrate the imminent arrival of Emma's new baby. This was a first for me, so I didn't know what to expect but had a great time, Emma however only just made her own baby shower as an hour previously she was on the labour ward at the N & N hospital. We played baby related games & ate cookies. I must say a big thank you to Angie for inviting us, & considering you organised the games you were surprisingly bad at the name game he he!!

We have even been invited back to church activities despite Abi's religious tourettes. When she dropped something she said " Oh god" & when I frowned at her she realised what she said and said " Oh Jesus", when I said ABI!! she said " oh hell"
These aren't words in her usual vocabulary but like me when we are with our friends who are religious we try very hard to make sure that we dont swear, I think these words are on the tip of our tongue as words we shouldn't say & because were thinking about it they just pop out.
Sorry xx

Happy Mothers day

Wishing you all a happy mothers day.

Mothers are Angels
Mothers are very special friends.
They're, truly, angels in disguise.
Whatever needs fixing, she's willing to mend.
She doesn't know it all. But, she tries.

You can tell her your secrets
And she'll never tell.
But, you can't hide things from her,
Because she knows you too well.

She knows when you're happy.
She can sense when you're blue
And, with her motherly instincts,
She'll know what to do.

Mothers are counselors,
Nurses, and such.
They'll do anything for you
Because they love you so much.

They'll listen intently,
Without saying a word,
And they won't think your problems
Are weird or absurd.

A mother's intuition
Is powerfully strong.
With unconditional love,
Her heart sets the tone.

She'll help solve your problems,
If you'll ask her to,
Because she knows, in her heart,
"That it's what mothers do."

Mothers are angels
Sent from God, up above,
And, next to our Savior,
There is no greater love.

So, this Mother's Day,
I'll just send out a prayer
Filled with gratitude and love
For all mothers, everywhere.

Happy Mother's Day, Mum,
And to all mothers, everywhere.
"God couldn't be everywhere at once.
That's why He created mums."

Congratulations Alice & Owen

Congratulations to you both on your special day

True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Alice is one of my lovely stampers 10 & she is so very creative. Alice made all of wedding invitations along with these beautiful cupcakes.

Can you spot the ingenious use of a Stampin' Up product. These cupcakes are going to form part of Alice & Owens wedding cake, Alice has made all of the cakes with her army of helpers including her sister Kate another of my lovely stampers 10.

Here is the card that I made for the happy couple.

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Manson

Pretty Flowers

Whilst surfing last week my friend came across this tutorial for making a scrunchie flower, I am always looking for different ideas for making handmade embellishments so I thought I would give it a try.

For my flower I used
Designer series papers ~ patterns
Bashful blue 113648
Cardstock
Apricot appeal
Lavender lace
Certainly celery
Stamps

It's beautiful wheel 111201
Live your dream 111486
Ink
Versamark
Glorious green
Tools
Scallop circle punch 109877
Mini glue dots 103683
The flower takes 11 scallop circles cut from the Designer series papers, they all needed to be scrunched up, I am loving scrunching, if you had asked me a year ago to scrunch up my papers or horror of horrors to rip my paper & would have looked horrified, but now I love scrunch, rip & ink. I'm not sure who to credit with this transformation, but I do love Tim Holtz.

I decided that these flowers were a little to full to use on a card so I added the flower to a layout instead.

Pop back to my blog over the next couple of weeks to see if you can spot any Sneak peeks of the new products.

Guess what this is made from

Anyone that knows me will only need one guess
An american flat bottom bag, the type that many of our fellow crafters across the pond have their packed lunch in & throw away on a daily basis.

They are very convieniently 6" x 12" so fold in half to make a brilliant little album, Since becoming a scrapbooker I have become a real magpie, but to put a positive spin on this obsession I have also become a top recycler.

A while back Alison gave me a paper bag book to decorate, since then I have been hooked, & managed to track down a seller on e-bay & have bought a bulk pack.

For mothers day I have decorated this one using

Stamps
Playful petals 113728
Simply said 106598
Bloomin' with beauty 112606
Designer series paper
Tea party 115158
Co-ordinating Cardstock

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
